Traditional Fiddle Music from a Cape Breton Island Celtic Icon and “Ambassador of Canadian Music”: the late Buddy MacMaster, master fiddle player (and an uncle of Cape Breton Fiddler Natalie MacMaster). Considered a major force in the survival of Cape Breton music and dance, Buddy MacMaster received the Order of Canada citation that recognized him as an "ambassador of Canadian music and a mentor to many" who is credited with bringing Cape Breton fiddling to the world stage by leading a Gaelic renaissance in Canada and abroad.
